The 13th iteration of the Fifa World Cup was held in Mexico between the 31st May to the 29th June in 1986. Featuring 24 teams for the second time, FIFA originally selected Colombia to host the tournament but pulled out due to economic reasons. This allowed Mexico the host the tournament for the second time and is famous for Diego Maradona’s “Hand of God”.
