Euro 2012 was jointly hosted by Poland and Ukraine, with Spain making history by becoming the first team to twin two consecutive European Championships having previously triumphed at Euro 2008 held in Austria-Switzerland.

The final was held in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine and Spain convincingly beat Italy 4-0, who edged out 2014 World Cup Champions Germany, with two first half. goals by Mario Balotelli.
