The 1962 FIFA World Cup was hosted in South America by Chile between the 30th May to the 17th June 1962. Brazil managed to retain their title as World Champions by defeating Czechoslovakia 3-1 in the final with the hosts finished third after defeating Yugoslavia by a single goal to nil.
