The 1966 Fifa World Cup was hosted by England between the 11th and 30th July, with the home side becoming the third World Cup Host to win the competition after Uruguay (1930) and Italy (1934). England defeated old rivals West Germany 4-2 in a match which we will never, ever, shut up about.
