The 1974 Fifa World Cup was the 10th iteration of the global football competition and was staged in West Germany. The competition saw the introduction of the current Fifa World Cup Trophy after Jules Rimet was given to Brazil after winning it three times at the previous tournament. West Germany became World Champions after defeating neighbours Netherlands 2-1 in the final.
