Rooftop view of Manchester

Just 11 rounds into this crazy covid covered competition we call the Premier League, and Manchester United find themselves 6th in the toughest competition in the World with a vital game in hand. Assuming they win the match they could be fourth, joint with Chelsea. Ever since Sir Alex left United, they have yet to win a league, with Jose Mourinho getting 2nd a few seasons – at best. But things could be looking up for the mighty reds who suffered quite severely from Ole’s post-honeymoon dip. Right now United aren’t the favourites, but we predict a late surge which could get them in and around the top spots. In another article, we wrote that we think Tottenham will be the eventual winners, but we also expect United to get 2nd. So if you want to take advantage of the current low odds of united, why not view the best signup offers to bet on United winning the league.

Three reasons to be happy

These aren’t so much reasons as players. United have 3-star players in each area of the pitch that are carrying the team at the moment. With Harry Maguire, shoring things up at the back United have a sound basis going forwards (and backwards!). The midfield maestro himself Fernandes pulleth the strings, and provides the creativity through the midfield. And with the long-anticipated arrival of Cavani to the Premier League, he is finally showing English Audiences why he was so lauded at Palermo, Napoli and PSG.

The team finally has the pure striker they have been crying for since Rooney and Van Persie won the season, and the South American’s work rate is reminiscent of a certain Carlos Tevez and his bull dog like approach.

One big reason to be worried – Paul “the Problem” Pogba

His astonishing goal against West Ham notwithstanding, Pogba has been one of the biggest flops in Premier League history. For 80 million smackaroos you’d expect him to be starting most games and scoring/assisting for fun. But instead, it’s all the pundits want to talk about, and the shadow of what Pogba could have been casts long and heavy on everything United do until he finally leaves or lives up to his potential.

A good run of form could set them right.

The league positions early on can be very deceptive. With only ten games played the league positions can vary wildly with each game. Also, if you have a challenging run of games early on, it can give the impression the team is doing poorly when a team is only three easy games away from jumping 7 or 8 positions. After a challenging Man City derby, there is a more comfortable run of Leeds, Leicester, Wolves and Aston Villa, all games Man Utd should be winning. Come back here after these fixtures have played out, and tell me that United aren’t top 2 or 3 in the league!

So to sum up. United are the Dark Horses this season. There was very little expectation of them at the start of the season, but within a few weeks, we expect them to be challenging for the Premier League title. Watch this space!
