Estadio George Capwell is a peculiarly named, multi-purpose stadium located in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Named after the American founder of home football team Club Sport Emelec, Capwell is a 24,500 capacity stadium which first opened in 1943 but underwent significant renovations in 1991. After Emelec won the 2013 Serie A title, the club promised to increase the capacity to 40,000 with an exact time frame on this extension unknown.
