History
Chi Lang Stadium first opened in the 1950s as a multi-purpose sports stadium however it was predominantly used for athletics competitions and amateur sports clubs.
It wasn’t until the formation of Quang Nam F.C in 1976 that Chi Lang Stadium would come to regularly host football matches. Renamed to SHB Da Nang F.C during the 2007/2008 season, the club were crowned Champions of the V. League for the first time in its history in 2009.
Set to participate in the Asian Champions League, Da Nang failed to reach the group stages of the competition after losing the East Asian Semi-final to Muangthong United from Thailand.
The highest level of football played at Chi Lang stadium to date came three years later in 2013 when Da Nang reached the Round of 16 of the AFC Cup which is the equivalent of the Europa League
Although some reports put the total capacity at 30,000, more accurate estimations suggest that the correct figure is closer to 28,000.
