Th inaugural fixture was held on 7th September 2007 between two local Maderian sides, Club Sport Maritimo and Clube Desportivo Nacional. Played out infront of a record crowd of 3,000 spectators, CD Nacional earned a 2 nil victory after Zé Vítor opened the scoring in the 62nd minute.
